《义道》讲述了国民时期，在察哈尔地区的张家口的商号里鼎兆通的少东家秦天义，是一名出类拔萃的商人，正当他与日本商会坐在一起时，当着日本人的面在众目睽睽下枪毙杀害自家人两个日本人，从此他参与到抗日战争中。

秦天义带着自己的弟兄们，经过千辛万苦，打败了日本安插在中国的间谍。他们尽自己所有的能力，帮助冯玉祥组织抗日队伍，参与到了收复察东四县的抗日战争中，他成了为了民族的利益而牺牲自己的抗日英雄。在陈香被抓后，秦天义制止冲动去救陈香一伙人马，他不能为了营救一个人，而影响了大家的人身安全。他提出去日本间谍谈判，但他没有答应日本人交出自家的矿产，伸出手枪击毙了日本间谍，他自己却被日本人的手下击毙，就这样秦天义为了大家的安全牺牲了自己。
